The inventions that made the world smaller!

When time was slow and distances longer, traveling was a feat, a real act of courage.
Making a journey on foot or by chariot was long, tiring and dangerous.
Everything in the ancient world moved at 30 km a day, the distance traveled by a healthy person on foot.

The Century of Travel, however, is the Nineteenth Century, which saw the birth of the first means of transportation that enabled people to move for the first time.

The first railway line appeared in 1825 in England: you can reach a speed of 24 km per hour and if it seems little, think that the first locomotives using the steam engine could reach a speed of 8 km per hour…

The first automobile trip was in 1886, for the airplane, on the other hand, we have to wait until the beginning of the Twentieth Century: it was on December 17, 1903 when Orville and Wilbur Wright took to the air with the first prototype airplane, an aircraft they designed.
Since then there is no place on earth that cannot be reached in the blink of an eye, the slow time of travel is a memory that does not belong to us, and the very idea of travel has changed.
Today almost no one wants to give up traveling.
And you? What kind of travelers are you?
